Halesowen Town

Halesowen Town Football Club and Halas Hawks Junior Football Club are delighted to announce they have entered into partnership.

Northern Premier League Yelzt who were founded in 1873, have joined forces with Halesowen based Halas, one of the oldest junior football clubs in the region, having been founded in 1980.

Operating under the banner, “Bringing Halesowen Together”, both sides are confident there will be mutual benefits for each other and that the partnership will be long standing.

Halesowen Town Vice Chairman Dave Hawley, commented, “We are extremely proud to have a club of the stature of Halas Hawks joining Halesowen Town. Local football is all about the local community, and between us we will become synonymous in the local community, not just two football clubs.

The partnership will open up opportunities to local players, both male and female of all ages to develop and enjoy their sport.” These sentiments were echoed by Rob Hickman, chairman of Halas Hawks who commented, ” As the largest and oldest junior football club in the area, we wanted to be more than just a group of teams playing under a name.

We want to establish Halesowen as a stronghold for what is good in the game in helping players of all ages to develop, learn and establish themselves in organised sport.

Our link up will help us achieve this goal by supplementing Halesowen Town’s existing standing and involvement in the local community as well as providing our players with access to more senior sport via Halesowen’s Youth and Academy teams.”

The initiative was launched at Halesowen’s recent game against Lancaster City where representatives and players from the many Halas teams were paraded in front of the home crowd.
