Boys League
Warstones 1 Halas Hawks West 3
This was a fantastic win for the U9s West against Warstones, who
only needed one point to win division two. It was a tight first
half with both teams having chances before Warstones scored the
opener just before halt time. Halas came out in the second half
and played some wonderful football and were awarded a penalty
which was tucked away coolly by Callum Hudson. Joshua Parsons
scored with a long range effort hard and low into the corner and
then added his second inside the box finishing with his left
foot driving across the goalkeeper into the far corner.
Particular praise went to the Halas goalkeeper, Jack MacFarlaine,
who earned the man of the match award with some fine saves and
whose general handling was superb throughout.
Old Wulfrunians 0
Halas Dynamos 0
The U11s Dynamos
travelled to Old Wulfrunians and their third draw in a row all
but ended hopes of second spot as they fell three points behind
the league leaders with two games to play. Halas started the
stronger of the two teams but missed gilt edged chances when
players were clean through on goal. The game was a very tight
affair with chances at a premium for Halas and the Halas
goalkeeper, Anthony Cowdell, was awarded the man of the match
award for some outstanding saves.
Girls League
Withymoor 1 Halas
Hawks 0
Halas U11s
conceded a late goal in this entertaining and closely fought top
of the table clash against Withymoor. As throughout the rest of
the season, the entire team were a credit to the club and
battled bravely throughout, whilst creating chances of their
own.
Halas Hawks 3 Withymoor 2
The
U13s took an early lead against Withymoor when Alison Dowen
scored in the opening minutes of the game. This was quickly
followed by a goal from Elisha Rose. A third goal by Danielle
Lawrence took the half time score to 3 0. The second half saw a
spirited fight back from Withymoor who scored two goals, but it
was not enough and Halas went through to the Merit Shield final.
Charis Maguire gave one of her best performances.
