Friendlies
Halas U8s East
entertained Wordsley Wasps and a good performance from both
teams followed. Goals came from Joshua Willetts (2),
Tom Baker
and one from Man of the Match, Morgan Rogers.
Girls League
Gornal Girls 1 Halas
Hawks 3
Both teams
struggled to come to terms with a dry bumpy pitch in the first
half of this U11's Merit Shield semi-final against Gornal. Halas
managed to create a few chances and it was from one of these
that Sophie Heaselgrave gave them the lead. The second half saw
Halas play some fluid football resulting in a goal by Louise
Tromans. Gornal hit back immediately from the resulting kick off
before Louise ensured the win with her second of the match.
Halas Hawks 0
Withymoor 0
(Withymoor won on
pens)
The U16s League
Cup Final between Halas and Withymoor produced a thrilling
encounter. A well taken goal from Sophie Leak gave Halas a first
half lead but Withymoor equalized in the second half. There was
nothing to separate the teams and after extra time there was no
further score. In the ensuing penalty competition, it was
Withymoor who took the honours. Halas’ Lauren Pearson was
awarded the official player of the match.
Boys League
Halas West 0 Forest Falcons West 0
The U9s West started the stronger against Forest Falcons and
should have taken the lead midway through the first half after
some excellent forward play from Josh Beasley, Josh Parsons and
Matthew Cole. Halas defended well with some brilliant defensive
play from George Shingleton and Lewis Grinham but neither team
were able to find the net. Man of the Match Jamie Stanton put in
his best performance of the season.
Kewford 0 Halas
Dynamos 0
The U11s Dynamos
dominated in the first half against Kewford North, but missed
two glorious chances to break the deadlock. Kicking up a very
big slope in the second half the Dynamos defended superbly
limiting Kewford to one strike at goal. Halas had another very
good chance near the end but had to settle for a share of the
spoils. Man of the match was Connor Smith.
Halas Hawks West
3 Bearwood Sports 2
The U11s West
finally won their first league game of the season with a gutsy,
hard-fought victory over Bearwood. Halas took the lead through
Alex Goode but were pegged back to go in at half time 2-1 down.
The second half saw Halas in determined mood and two goals from
Ellis Meredith saw Halas claim a well deserved 3-2 victory.
Halas though were indebted to goalkeeper Tom Welsh who produced
two fine penalty saves to ensure the win.
Halas 1 Old Wulfs
1
The U12s met top
of the table, Old Wulfrunians, and went ahead with a Dominic
Hipkiss strike before the opposition pulled one back to make the
final score 1-1. This was the best football of the season for
Halas and man of the match went to Charlie Bagley.
Halas Hawks 5 Bilbrook 2
Another fantastic team performance from the U14s grinding Bilbrook down to deservedly earn the points. Four fine goals
from man of the match, Luke Patton, and one from Lewis Hatfield
made the final score 5-2. |
